About

Audio waves and windy outdoor days.

What You'll Find Here

Spectral Run is the way I think of my unique intersection of music technology and running. I run to stay fit and get faster. I play with audio and web technology to tickle my curiosity. Both are spread across to two main sections of this site:

The Stack

Built with Astro, styled with Tailwind CSS, and content managed with TinaCMS. Fast, clean, and probably over-engineered in the best way.

Who's Behind This?

Jimmy Penlesky – Human, lifelong runner, electronic audio nerd, and hobbiest tinkerer.

By day, I build websites at a marketing agency. By night (and early morning), I'm deep into collecting music from Bandcamp and Bleep, Ableton Live sessions with Max, or coaxing sounds out of portable music boxes from Teenage Engineering, Polyend, and Korg.

Running keeps me sane. Making music keeps me curious. Building tools at the intersection of both keeps things interesting.

Find me on Mastodon or check out code on GitHub. Always happy to talk about audio technology, running, sequencers, or why your music library should be self owned and hosted.
